Constructed of local wood in typical Savoyarde style, the double height ceiling in the sitting and dining room gives an airy feel, yet the log fire – and the underfloor heating - creates a cosy warm atmosphere. The emphasis is on comfort, perfect for relaxing after a day on the slopes and enjoying a sundowner where you can enjoy the spectacular mountain views from the french windows. The dining area easily seats 12 people and the separate kitchen is extremely well equipped.
The chalet sleeps 12 in two double bedrooms and four twin bedrooms, all of which are en suite and all have their own terrace or balcony carved from local wood. Each spacious bedroom is decorated in its own individual style with pretty furnishings and thoughtful touches.
If you have a larger party of guests there is the option of integrating the ground floor apartment into your accommodation, ideal for a family of four. It has its own small sitting room and kitchenette, with a small double and a twin bedroom, plus a bathroom. With a separate entrance and garden, it can provide some extra space.
A Sauna and Jacuzzi are on the ground floor, with the option of maintaining them easily yourselves during your stay or the full service. There is plenty of space for car parking.
Les Contamines Montjoie is an hour and a half by car from Geneva, neatly situated between Chamonix and Megeve in the picturesque Val Montjoie in the heart of the world-famous Mont Blanc region, and is one of the world’s most snowsure resorts. It has special features for snowboarding, and excellent, safe, off-piste access. The lifts are a few minutes drive from the chalet and there are several cosy and welcoming mountain restaurants to sample the local dishes.
As well as ski-ing and snowboarding, the village offers ski de fond, guided snow shoe (raquette) expeditions, ice skating and dog sledding. For the more adventurous skiers, the breathtaking Vallee Blanche above Chamonix and the famous Les Grands Montets glacier at Argentiere are within easy reach. Indeed, none of the 14 resorts of the Mont Blanc Region is more than a 10 to 40 minute drive away.
Spring and summer see the Val Montjoie become a colourful and peaceful haven, ideal for complete relaxation or to enjoy the many activities available in the village. Twisting in and out of the pine forest, alongside the lovely Bon Nant river, a pretty path leads you to the natural park area. Here are eight championship tennis courts, adventure courses, rock climbing school, horse riding, donkey rides, archery, golf driving and mini-golf, with a bar and restaurant overlooking a small swimming and boating lake.
