In the heart of the Dolomites with dramatic peaks and cliffs on every side, Hotel Rosa Alpina dates back to 1850 when the first stone of the hotel was laid as a donation from a prosperous family of San Cassiano to the Church. At that time there were very few inhabitants in this pretty Ladino village but during the war San Cassiano became an important  focus and in the thirties tourism increased. Since the purchase of the farmhouse in 1940 by the Pizinini family the Rosa Alpina Hotel has undergone renovation and growth as has the delightful town of San Cassiano as an important skiing and walking destination. In 1988 Rosa Alpina became a four star hotel followed by the inauguration of the first Daniela Steiner beauty spa. As exciting was the arrival in 1994 of Norbert Niederkofler and the creation of the St Hubertus Restaurant which was later recognised with its first Michelin Star and then quoted in 2003 as one of the sixteen best restaurants in Italy.

Each of the rooms has its own name related to the history of the Pizzinini family maintaining the tradition of Rosa Alpina. Luxurious materials from linen to wood and marble have been used in decorating the hotel and paintings and furniture reflect the Ladino tradition of the area. The Daniela Steiner Spa encompasses every possible concept of pampering and luxury with 11 treatment spas, a large swimming pool, Roman steam room, Finnish sauna, gym, solarium and whirlpool bath.
