The architectural style is that of a riad with courtyards and salons and the decoration is in a colonial African style. The rooms are all different, some Portuguese in bright colours, some English with engravings of colonial scenes whilst others are firmly African, adorned in skins and braids - there is even an eastern room decorated in gold and burgundy cloth. The marble bathrooms are divine, the French gastronomic cuisine with Moroccan flavours irresistible and there is even a pool on the roof from which to gaze across the enchanting city of Essaouira.
