Positioned high on a hilltop with stunning 360 degree views of the countryside as far as the sea, Le Casette della Capriola comprises two charming farmhouses which have been restored into a much loved family home amidst the wild and unspoilt Maremma scenery and close to the fabulous sandy beaches of the Argentario promontory.

Originally a resting place for travellers with their horses, Le Casette della Capriola is now an enticing venue for a gathering of friends and family. Casetta Grande and Casetta Piccola sit alongside one another and each is bordered by a broad and deep terrace from which one can enjoy the stunning uninterrupted views across the olive trees and ‘macchie mediterranea’ to the sea beyond. Along the western side of the hill is the large pool with pergola and dining table – an excellent place for al fresco dining. Both properties have been sympathetically restored in keeping with the original style and the highest quality materials have been used at the same time as maintaining the feeling of a home and a country house. There are traditional beamed ceilings, arches, soft pink cotto floors, old family pieces and natural hand woven linens. Living rooms are comfortable with lots of sofas and books and a large open fireplace and spacious dining room in Casetta Grande.
Nearby is the pretty walled medieval town of Capalbio and a little further afield are Siena, the Etruscan tombs of Tarquinia and the thermal baths of Saturnia. The Argentario peninsula with its beaches, cliffs and seafood restaurants of Porto Ercole are nearby and some guests will love the opportunity to go sailing over to the Islands of Giglio and Guannutri.
Le Casette della Capriola are stylish, comfortable and homely in this captivating yet unknown region of Southern Tuscany – the Maremma.
