The house is approached through imposing iron gates and along its 750 metre private drive. The main house dates back to 1710 and its facade is dominated by two spectacular plane trees which must be almost as old. They provide welcome shade and create a marvelous setting for outdoor dining on the large terrace which extends directly into the garden. There are many and varied exotic trees and shrubs, lavender fields and olive groves. The extensive orchard, vegetable and herb garden provide delicious fresh produce used in cooking at the property. There is plenty to keep the energetic happy - a hard tennis court and a 17 metre tiled swimming pool, both at opposite ends of the garden. Set amongst the trees and shrubs is an Asian style pavilion for quiet contemplation and sunset cocktails. The garden is securely fenced all around.
Mas St Joseph has recently been entirely renovated and painstakingly restored to the highest standard by the owners, with a little help from a world class interior designer. It is furnished in a modern eclectic style influenced by the owners international lifestyle. They have cleverly added a whole new guest wing that is linked to the house by a generously large covered loggia, where there is a spacious sitting area, large dining table and fully equipped modern kitchen. It looks out onto an internal courtyard which has a pretty fountain as its centrepiece and beyond to the garden. On entering via the courtyard the first impression is one of space, style and grandeur. The loggia is styled with a hint of Morocco in the oversize candle lanterns, scatter cushions and bench seating. There is also a 'wifi' internet connection to the modern world.
The main house has very large rooms creating an exceptionally light, bright and airy space. The reception rooms are largely open plan and the ceilings are 3.5 metres high. There is an upstairs living room also and here the ceilings are an impressive 5 metres high. The guest wing has four double bedrooms all with modern designs, ensuite bathrooms and air conditioning. There is also a kitchen/breakfast room and a further living room or playroom.
With two areas of accommodation, separate yet next door to each other, Mas St Joseph would suit a large extended family who want to be together yet have the ability to disappear to a quiet corner. There are plenty of beautiful places within the local Provencal area and many Michelin star restaurants too. This house offers a unique combination of convenience and accessibility with complete tranquility and privacy.

What our clients had to say...
"The wedding was GORGEOUS. The house unbelievable and everything went so smoothly. The horseback riding and the picnic could not have been better. Friday the horses arrived and the carriage. It was a big surprise for everyone. Beautiful horses and they took such good care of our group. The lunch was set up in the woods at the foot of the caves - very generous and delicious.
Thanks so much for your help. We couldn't have done it without you, and Paul and Marie Jo who continued to be really helpful throughout the week." The Robertson Party, Mas St Joseph, June 2010
