Lovingly designed over five years by the owners and built by the architect of the Amman Hotel Group, Villa Laemson sits on a rocky point at the end of a peninsula overlooking Kamala Bay and the Andaman Sea with an amazing 275º view. A sense of peace envelops you, the only sounds being the crashing waves and singing birds – this is a true tropical oasis.
One enters the stylish compound through impressive 18th century Chinese doors. Once inside you are greeted by antique Burmese and Chinese statues, ornately carved wooden gables and magnificent views of the sparkling Andaman Sea. It is immediately apparent that the house – like the owners' gallery – has been furnished with well-planned finishing touches, and many pieces of artwork and treasures are in evidence.
Designed with traditional styling, yet equipped with every modern convenience, this grand home boasts three master bedrooms housed in separate 72m² Thai pavilions that are decorated with antiques and a collection of Ong Vietduong paintings, a prominent artist from Vietnam. Their bathrooms have sunken stone bath tubs built-for-two. The remaining spacious bedrooms all have balconies, with an additional room suitable for a nanny or child. There is also an inviting infinity pool, a gym complete with sauna and steam room, a cinema/games room with a large pull-down screen plus TV/DVD player with games console, wireless internet connection throughout and beautifully refined landscaping.
The Head of the staff speaks English and is also the head chef versed in both Thai and Western cuisine. The modern, fully-equipped kitchen is positioned behind the wall of the servant’s quarters and provides a large wine fridge and dehumidifier in the pantry.
Kamala bay represents the face of old Phuket with village markets and cosy restaurants. Fishing boats line the shoreline and local cafes and bars provide a warm welcome to visitors.
On the island there is plenty to do for all ages. Phuket town has much to see of cultural interest or shopping during the day, with varied nightlife. For the children there is a snake farm, a zoo and even a Thai Show Extravaganza only 10 minutes from the villa. Visit the Wat Chalong temple or the Khao Praew Thaew national park, where the more adventurous can take a canoe, or an elephant safari! In the evening, why not dine out on a traditional Chinese junk - the June Bahtra - and enjoy Phuket's renowned sunsets.
Day tours with lunch are available for Krabi, Phang Nga Bay, James Bond Island and Koh Racha, Phi Phi or destinations in between, on the OSU Riviera 48 Flybridge, a 17m yacht available for hire.
OSU is the ideal holiday boat for day trips or extended holidays and is fully crewed with just about every available option to ensure the most pleasant and relaxing day aboard of fighting fish offshore. It is fitted with a full complement of fishing equipment, with many added extra luxuries.
This is an ideal location for a family summer holiday.
