From its hilltop location in the foothills of the Apuan Alps, just 40 minutes north of Lucca, Belvedere is in a spectacular position with stunning, panoramic views over hillside villages, verdant forests to the mountains beyond. Set in four acres of gardens comprising woodland walks and formally designed areas, the original house has been divided into three properties, each of which is now privately owned.
The spacious interiors in Belvedere have been lovingly and tastefully restored and by the owners, to a very high standard. The open plan living and dining area is light and spacious, and the large windows and french doors, that lead onto the terrace, allow the sunlight to stream through. Throughout the property, the walls and ceilings have been colourwashed in typical Italianate style, creating a warm ambiance.
Outside, the private terrace is the perfect place for sunbathing and dining al fresco where you can immerse yourself in views that will take your breath away. In the evening, you can sit out and enjoy a glass of wine in utter peace and tranquility.
All the bedrooms have been furnished with attractive antique furniture and tastefully decorated, from the sheer white drapes to the colourwashed walls throughout. The spacious Master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, and the two further double and twin bedrooms share a bathroom. All the bedrooms share the same aspect with magical views across the hills.
The English speaking housekeeper, Nora, is available to give help or guidance should you have any problems. Visitors to Belvedere in the Spring and Autumn have also taken advantage of the local cookery courses and watercolour painting courses which are available nearby. The charming, village of Coreglia is also a delight to visit.
This romantic setting has also made a perfect Wedding location many times, providing an amazing backdrop for the treasured photographs of your special day and the wedding banquet taking place under the spacious loggia. On these occasions, the other residences have been made available for your additional guests.
