On entering the villa, the sense of space and light is immediately apparent as one passes along an elegant colonnaded passage of double height which links the main house to the guest wing and, on one side, opens onto the beautifully landscaped garden with its decorative urns and its generous sunbathing area around the private pool.
Once in the main house, floor to ceiling glass doors flood the spacious reception, dining and sitting rooms with light and reveal the truly spectacular sea views. The comfortably furnished sitting room has a high ceiling and exposed whitewashed beams, is carefully decorated with chosen artifacts, and throughout, the atmosphere is enhanced by numerous subtle lighting combinations.
The well equipped breakfast kitchen includes all the expected conveniences and is sure to encourage the least keen of cooks to practice a dish or two!
Upstairs leads to the master bedroom with en suite bathroom, dressing area and private roof terrace.
The adjoining wing perfectly accommodates a further two double bedrooms, both with en-suite bathrooms and French windows leading onto the garden along with the convenience of sharing a cleverly designed and compact kitchenette. Above this, the thoughtful inclusion of a separate apartment of two twin bedrooms sharing a bathroom, with an open plan sitting area and kitchenette, providing just the arrangement for up to four friends, independent teenagers or children accompanied by their nanny.
Furnishings and fittings are of the highest standard. The cool and calming palette of neutral colours is complemented by the light Scandinavian oak flooring which accentuates the choice pieces of furniture. Bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious with wonderful showers and modern fittings.
Outside, an expansive stone sun terrace wraps around the villa, shaded in parts for the most comfortable dining al fresco, or providing the ultimate sun deck for gazing out onto the shimmering water of the Gulf of Calvi. With numerous seating areas, there can be a different place to enjoy breakfast almost every day!
Villa Monte Ortu has a superbly efficient manager who will be on hand to assist with any requirement – whether for the French chef who provides the most delicious cuisine, where to dine out or simply for the best beaches.
Should you wish to see the beauty of Corsica from the sea, there is the 14 metre speedboat Le Paradise available to enjoy an exhilarating day trip with the skipper and discover the exceptional sandy beaches of the Agriates Desert, the red rocks of the Scandola Nature Reserve and much more.
Without doubt, Villa Monte Ortu is the most fantastic villa in which to relax in luxury and enjoy Corsican living at its very best.
