Vico Basso is situated on a small, private estate along a quiet country lane, running past the owner’s villa and the stables. It has a private garden with olive trees and a terrace is set off to one side, enjoying a lovely view and is perfect for dining al fresco using the small summer kitchen and barbeque that has been created in the adjacent covered courtyard. A short flight of open stone stairs leads to the upper level apartment of Vico Basso.

The property has been carefully and lovingly restored by the owner, retaining the traditional original beams and terracotta floors, yet by introducing a restful palette of soft tones of stone, beige and cream fabrics throughout the house, the colourwashed walls and furnishings combine harmoniously with the original beamed ceilings of the 16th Century farmhouse to create a light and airy feel.

The large drawing room has an impressive stone fireplace, complemented by ivory-coloured sofas and bleached wooden floors. The floor-to-ceiling draped windows provide superb countryside views. The adjacent study has an attractive desk for working and writing, and a double sofabed.

The large dining kitchen has been newly refurbished and is well equipped with all modern conveniences. A picture window looks across the adjacent rooftop to the countryside beyond.

The Master bedroom is attractively furnished and has an ensuite bathroom and a queen sized bed. The twin bedroom is light and airy with a vaulted, beamed ceiling and is furnished with two impressive antique beds and guests have a private travertine bathroom for their own use.

The location of Vico Basso is superb - just five minutes to Taverne d'Arbia or Due Ponti for basic shopping and services and seven minutes to the Porta Pispini of Siena. This property is suitable for children over 10 years old.
