Es Maressos is located on the southern coast of Mallorca, only 500 metres from the white sand beach of Cala Santanyi and a stone's throw away from the famed "Pontas", a spectacular natural stone arch formed by the waves over the centuries which rises proudly from the sea.
The house is modern and comfortable and would be ideal for one or two families. It is surrounded by pine and olive groves, with mature landscaped gardens and a shady courtyard, and has plenty of space for children to enjoy. The spacious sitting room has a wood burning stove for the cooler winter months and three large bay windows that catch the sea breeze and offer views of the sloping gardens and sea beyond. The house benefits from a separate dining room with seating for eight plus a separate study or TV room. The newly fitted Italian kitchen is very stylish and modern, and has access to a wrap-around covered terrace for al fresco dining.
There is a lovely family suite located off the sitting room that has French doors opening onto the beautiful shaded courtyard. It has a traditional Mallorquin four poster canopied king-size bed, plus a spacious en suite bathroom and a second twin-bedded room. A queen-bedded guest room - the "sailor's room" – has an ensuite shower room and benefits from large glass doors opening onto the courtyard.
The circular watchtower houses a lovely double bedroom located on the first floor, offering breathtaking 180 degree views of the Mediterranean coastline through its traditional Moorish windows. A smaller connecting room facing the fields may be used as a dressing area, sitting room or a nursery.
The infinity pool borders the house offering guests the opportunity to cool down or relax on the sunloungers enjoying the glorious Mediterranean panorama. A smaller dipping pool on the lower level allows children to play safely under a watchful eye from the adjacent terrace. The stone pool house is a convenient addition and is well equipped to offer two extra beds, a kitchenette and shower room. With stunning sea views, it opens onto a cactus garden in the lower part of the property. Pines, olive trees and typical Mediterranean plants grow in the eastern garden while almond trees, carob trees and capers are in the northern field.
With direct sea access in the lower part of the property, the adventurous will enjoy diving and the ultimate swimming experience, floating amongst the waves.
The white sandy beach of Cala Santanyi is located only a short walk away. Ideal for families with young children, it also has a beach cabana with showers, a few surrounding restaurants, and food shops. The neighbouring beach hotels offer an array of services from tennis courts, squash courts and pools.
Every Wednesday and Saturday Santanyi’s town square is bustling with the prized market which carries everything from locally grown organic nuts and vegetables to handmade lace, pottery, bags and shoes. Go early to avoid the crowds at this popular traditional market.
