Built high up the hill the property is set on a 30 acre estate and is sheltered by acres of ancient oak forest rolling over the hills behind the house. It has been lovingly renovated and interior designed to the highest specification by the owners. Each room is suffused with the magical light of the Luberon and the house gives a wonderful feeling of space and light.   

The upstairs drawing room, with its vaulted beamed ceiling is exquisitely furnished with thoughtful touches, and has the most spectacular southerly views through its three large french windows leading onto a large balcony. The original stone fireplace is an impressive centrepiece of this room. Each of the five spacious bedrooms is individually and beautifully decorated, with every detail cleverly thought through, and has either a balcony or terrace. Each bathroom is laid out with fine towels and soaps and has both a bath and shower.

The dining room seats 10 comfortably, and opens onto the central courtyard with its friendly lime tree that provides shade in the heat of the day, yet allows extra light into the property at dusk. There is also a shaded dining terrace, perfect for dining al fresco. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with a Bocuse range and large American fridge. There is a further sitting room with a library, satellite TV and DVD player and internet access. 

Mas d'Elodie is a lovely child friendly farmhouse and ideal for one or two families. Two cots and a high chair are provided on request. The library is also a cosy second sitting room with a large LCD television and open fireplace, providing extra space to play the various board games provided for guest’s use or spend a quiet hour or two reading.

Further down the estate is La Bastide de Murs – the hunting lodge which sleeps six guests and has its own wonderful pool. It can be taken in conjunction with Mas d'Elodie and is only a few minutes walk from the house, enabling you to extend your party to include another family. Please ask us for details of this property. The free-form swimming pool is natural in style with a sloping beach entrance, wooden jumping platform and a horizon edge. Its design gives least impact into the natural surroundings and maximum enjoyment. The sloping landscape consists of natural grassland planted with cherry trees, so the overall impression is of nature and beauty. With the spacious terraces providing extensive countryside views, and the extensive grounds, there is ample space for children to run and explore. There is a barbecue area in the garden.

The tennis court has a terracotta, quick-dry surface, best for withstanding local weather conditions and will provide opportunities for excellent exercise.

The local area is perfect for enjoying leisure activities such as walking, cycling, fishing or horseback riding. This area of France is well known for its antique and food markets. The Isle sur la Sorgue - a Venice-like town – is about half an hour away, and has around six hundred antique dealers and a thriving street market every weekend, plus a golf course. Kayaking down the river Sorgue, from the Fontaine de Vaucluse (a fully grown river which comes out of a cave) is also fun.
