With its large infinity pool and extensive landscaped gardens criss-crossed by the Podere La Serra vines, there is a wonderful feeling of space in an untouched and hidden-away corner of Tuscany. One may enjoy the wonderful quiet of the hills, with cooling breezes during the hot summer months and wonderful star gazing opportunities, whilst the hustle and bustle of the coast and the wonderful villages of the Cinque Terre are only 40 minutes away.
Spend your days simply lying by the pool or beneath the pergola and enjoying the far-reaching views with a glass of wine and reading a good book - an absolute joy! A 5 minute morning walk will find you in Agnino where you can buy freshly baked bread and some supplies from the small shop there.
A longer walk will take you strolling through the hills to Malliano's restaurant, where you can enjoy excellent food all week with the locals, but especially on Sundays with the 12-course feast lasting all afternoon! More recommended restaurants are slightly further afield, with a superb restaurant that the owner feels is the 'best in Italy' for it's wonderful pizzas and laid back atmosphere!
If you prefer to get out and about, Podere La Serra is within easy access of walks in the Appenine and Apuan hills and swimming in the Mediterranean. There are many beaches to choose from only 40 minutes away, with wonderful snorkelling in the incredible marine reserves. From Lerici or Portovenere, boats will take you from village to village, where you can explore the idyllic small fishing villages and coves.
The location makes Podere la Serra ideal for celebrating a special occasion. For a party, our pizza chef can introduce you to cooking with the traditional pizza oven and we have a local jazz ensemble who are great fun and have performed many times, both inside the house and on the terrace, ensuring your party is truly special and magical. Spa treatments are also available.
The Podere is furnished in a comfortable rather than grand style and with characteristic features such as a huge stone open fireplace and the traditional pizza oven. The accommodation is set over three floors and is perfectly arranged for two families or a group of friends. The option to use the two kitchens, one on the ground floor and one on the first, as well as two sitting rooms is ideal if guests want their own space. All the bedrooms have en suite facilities and some have spa baths or showers. On the ground floor there is a reading room that has a sofa bed providing additional space for extra guests. Alternatively, the self-contained annexe has a double bed on a mezzanine, with a living area and kitchenette.
