In the heart of the Luberon, Mas de la Boissière sits within a private estate of 14 acres of wooded parkland, midway between the ancient Provençal villages of Cucuron and Cabrières d’Aigues. From the outside, this 18th century restored property is a charming example of a typical Provencal Mas – or farmhouse – with its whitewashed walls and green shutters. The house has commanding views far reaching to Cézanne's Mont St Victoire to the south, the rugged Alpes des Haut Provence to the east and the peak of Mourre Négre, the highest point of the Grand Luberon to the north. The grounds are flanked by fields of sunflowers, vines and olive groves ensuring complete privacy.

Walking through the front door, you enter into a wide and spacious hallway, with tiled floor and beamed ceiling. To your right is the sitting room with a carved stone fireplace, beamed ceiling and large, comfy sofas. This lovely light room has two sets of French windows opening east and south onto the parkland. Next door to the sitting room is the TV room.
West of the hallway is the dining room with its own log fire. This room is spacious with two sets of French windows and seats 12 guests comfortably. There is a large, roomy and fully equipped kitchen which opens onto the poolside.
All six bedrooms have great proportions and benefit from en suite facilities, many with original features of beams and vaulted ceilings. Three of the rooms have super king sized beds or can be made up as twins and the other three have king sized beds. All the bedrooms have been individually decorated to a very high standard, furnished with thoughtful touches such as the antiques that blend seamlessly with the typically Provençal décor.
Set in its own stone walled courtyard is the heated freeform swimming pool. The child-friendly shallow end is level, making it ideal for beginners or those of us who just want to sit and do nothing but bask in the sunshine. From the springboard you can leap into 2.8m of water or you may prefer to seek out the shaded pool house with its bar or dine al fresco and take in the fabulous views of the Luberon mountains.
There are 14 acres of parkland for you to wander around or may wish to challenge each other to petanque – take yourselves off to the elevated, floodlit petanque terrain and boule away into the small hours.
The house managers are a very charming and discreet couple, fluent in English, French and German, who live in a cottage in the grounds. Nothing is too much trouble and they will take as much care of you during your stay as you wish. Their local knowledge is extremely good and they can help plan any day trips, vineyard tours etc.
The hilltop village of Cucuron is less than 5 minutes by car or 20 min stroll through the vineyards. One of the most beautiful villages in France, there are characterful streets to explore that wind up to the chateau and a Michelin starred restaurant. Cabrières d’Aigues with its equally beautiful charm is the same distance. Further afield are the villages of Lourmarin, famous for its market, Bonnieux, which defies description and Ansouis with its fabulous Château are all close by. The wonderful towns of Apt, Aix-en-Provence and legendary Avignon are within easy reach and will entrance you whatever you interests. Steeped in history dating back thousands of years this area will not cease to delight you.
