In the heart of the Luberon, Mas de la Boissière sits within a private estate of 14 acres of wooded parkland, midway between the ancient Provençal villages of Cucuron and Cabrières d’Aigues. From the outside, this 18th century restored property is a charming example of a typical Provencal Mas – or farmhouse – with its whitewashed walls and green shutters. The house has commanding views far reaching to Cézanne's Mont St Victoire to the south, the rugged Alpes des Haut Provence to the east and the peak of Mourre Négre, the highest point of the Grand Luberon to the north. The grounds are flanked by fields of sunflowers, vines and olive groves ensuring complete privacy.

Walking through the front door, you enter into a wide and spacious hallway, with tiled floor and beamed ceiling. To your right is the sitting room with a carved stone fireplace, beamed ceiling and large, comfy sofas. This lovely light room has two sets of French windows opening east and south onto the parkland. Next door to the sitting room is the TV room.

West of the hallway is the dining room with its own log fire. This room is spacious with two sets of French windows and seats 12 guests comfortably. There is a large, roomy and fully equipped kitchen which opens onto the poolside.

All six bedrooms have great proportions and benefit from en suite facilities, many with original features of beams and vaulted ceilings. The child-friendly shallow end is level, making it ideal for beginners or those of us who just want to sit and do nothing but bask in the sunshine. From the springboard you can leap into 2.8m of water or you may prefer to seek out the shaded pool house with its bar or dine al fresco and take in the fabulous views of the Luberon mountains.

There are 14 acres of parkland for you to wander around or may wish to challenge each other to petanque – take yourselves off to the elevated, floodlit petanque terrain and boule away into the small hours.
