Chateau Gauthier is an impressive eighteenth century manor house with a warm atmosphere and elegant furnishings, situated in mature gardens and woodland with the vineyards of St Emilion nearby. This family home is the most superb venue from which to explore this fabulous area, renowned for its fine wines and walled market towns.
Croquet and a barbeque in the garden, golf and tennis nearby, all help to make Chateau Gauthier an ideal venue for a fun and relaxing holiday for two families or a group of friends. The grounds are mostly laid to lawn and mature shrubs and the property is mostly surrounded by woodland ensuring your privacy. There are also extensive views of beautiful countryside. Children will love to play on the extensive lawns, and there is a tiny wendy house in its own magical woodland, with a tiny stream and lily pond.
Across the lawns is a self-contained Pigeonniere for two, providing additional accommodation for larger groups or perhaps a little more space for a party in which to spread themselves, increasing even more the feeling of comfort and privacy.
Inside, polished wooden floors, heavily beamed ceilings and open fireplaces lend grandeur whilst the consistently high standard of decoration throughout provides the elegant feel of the house and ensures comfort for its guests.
Bedrooms are thoughtfully furnished and most benefit from en suite bathrooms or shower rooms. The very fine drawing room, with its open fireplace, leads to an exquisite dining room, the perfect venue for long lunches during the cooler months. In Summer, the covered loggia by the large swimming pool provides the perfect venue for a lunch dining al fresco or relaxing over a candlelit supper with a flavoursome glass of St Emilion.
In addition, the property's sleeping accommodation can be extended up to 15 if your party includes small children.
With all the attractions of Chateaux, vineyards and sandy Atlantic beaches not far away - as well as being easily accessible by car from the United Kingdom - Chateau Gauthier is a unique and unusual find.
