Situated between Apt and Saignon, La Blancherie has been sympathetically renovated in keeping with its traditional Maison de Maitre style. Arriving at the property one drives through the two 19th century designed entrances and up the drive bordered by tall century-old pine trees. The carefully maintained multi-level garden with ponds, chestnut, plantane and cypress trees add an authentically French feel to the property which is completely private and enjoys 360 degree views to the Mont du Vaucluse, the Plateau d’Albion, Saignon and the Plateau des Claparedes.
Inside this large property two of the three floors have been completely restored and furnished in a comfortable yet minimalist style. There is ample space for a couple of families or a group of friends with a large well-equipped kitchen and dining area, two living rooms with fireplaces, one drawing/dining room, and one vestibule/library room.
From the kitchen is an attractive south facing outside dining area for relaxing under the trees and a delightful place for breakfast, lunch and dinner with barbeque. Close to the terrace on the west of the house is the swimming pool with spacious sitting area with natural wood and stone floor.
With the hills of woods and fields all around there are plenty of places for keen walkers to explore and nearby are the delightful villages of Roussillon, Bonnieux, Menerbes, Gordes and many more – here one can relax in an environment full of character and while away the days exploring the markets and savouring the many delicacies of the area.
