Latvia has been a member of the EU since 2004 and the historic old town of Riga shows its visitors the best. What the tourists do not see is the hidden poverty. Many families in rural areas live in inhumane conditions: they still draw their water from a well and have no bathroom. During your stay, you will visit and support some of these families by unloading trucks, organising relief supplies and visiting families in need in the countryside. You can also be involved in 3 days of construction helping to renovate part of a house of a family with social need. Many hands to make light work.

When you have a free moment you can go and see the historical old town of Riga, explore Castle Tureida, take a canoe trip on the Gauja and visit the open air museum.
