Join us on this unique twelve day tour of Uganda, exploring the beauty of the country, the history and the people.
NATURE: Uganda is rich with national parks and a large variety of animals. The tour will take you to the breath-taking Murchison Falls National Park where you will go on safari, marvelling at all the hippopotami, elephants, giraffes and the abundance of other wildlife. It will also take you to Kaniyo Pabidi for a morning of chimp tracking in the wild. Towards the end of the tour, you will go to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, close to the border of Rwanda, for a day of trekking to meet a family of gorillas.
HISTORY: The tour will be lead by David Baker, Great-Great-Grandson of the Victorian Explorer Sir Samuel Baker. David has access to unique family documents which provide tremendous insight into the expeditions taken by Sir Samuel and Lady Florence Baker. You will learn more about their lives, discoveries and the role they played in ending the slave trade. One of the places you will stay is The Masindi Hotel, Uganda’s oldest hotel, where Sir Samuel met the King of Bunyoro.
PEOPLE: The tour will take you to meet enterprising community members who are working together to use business solutions to solve poverty.
