Inigo Lopez de Onaz y Loyola was born in the Castle of Loyola in the Basque country in North East Spain in 1491. He was one of 13 children born to a noble family and as a young man had ideas of chivalry, love and knighthood. In 1521 he was severely wounded by a cannonball during the Battle of Pamplona. During his recuperation in Loyola he had a vision of Our Lady with the Christ Child and experienced true compassion and a spiritual conversion. He began a journey to Jerusalem so that he could "kiss the earth where our Lord had walked". He founded the Jesuit Order and developed The Spiritual Exercises.

Join us as we embrace the deep devotion of this radiant servant of God to the Eucharist and his profound love for St. Francis of Assisi, which fueled his mission and his life. Carlo Acutis, a teenager with an extraordinary faith, saw the Eucharist as the "highway to heaven." In his brief but impactful life, he became an exemplar of Christian living in the modern world. We invite you to walk in his footsteps, to understand his unwavering belief in the Real Presence, and to let it transform your own spiritual journey.

In June 1981, the Virgin Mary appeared as a vision to several schoolchildren in Medjugorje, a town located in the Herzegovina region of Bosnia and Herzegovina, since then, Catholics worldwide have made the pilgrimage to the site now known for its unique atmosphere of prayer and serenity as well as miraculous happenings. Join us to explore the the most important pilgrimage centre in Europe and personally experience the devotion and faith found here. Daily English-speaking mass at St James Church and blessing of articles will be an integral part of the days, we will climb Apparition Hill, while reciting the Rosary, pausing five times for each decade of the Rosary and spend time in private prayer at the peak and site of the Visitation. We will also climb Mt. Krizevac (Cross Mountain) where the pious villagers built a 30’ foot high cross in 1933 to commemorate the passion and death of Our Lord Jesus, this will bring a chance to pray the Stations of the Cross over fifteen pauses at each station. As dusk draws our group will join locals and fellow pilgrims to say the Rosary followed by an optional Croatian Mass and a Blessing of the Sick. Where available, we will arrange to visit the visionaries in their homes and hear first-hand their experiences. A journey into Grace and Peace.

The route between Rieti and Assisi is not the full length of the Via di Francesco (which is 340 miles from Florence to Rome) but it covers the 125 miles between the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, Rieti and the Basilica of St Francis in Assisi. With visits to Greccio where St Francis started live Crib scenes in 1223 and Cascata della Marmore the largest man-made waterfall in the world, the pilgrimage to Assisi will give you plenty of quiet time to reflect on St Francis's life and the lessons that we can all learn from him whilst enjoying beautiful countryside and delicious local Italian food.
