Join the parish pilgrimage this October to Assisi to mark the 800th anniversary of the death of St Francis in 1226 AD.
Explore the Basilica of St Francis and discover the famous frescoes of his life by Giotto and other great masters, while also learning about St Clare, his first disciple and the founder of the Poor Clares.
The pilgrimage includes a special day trip to the remote mountain Sanctuary of La Verna, where St Francis often withdrew to pray and live in solitude.
Along the way, celebrate Mass or join the liturgy with local Franciscan friars, and visit the 13th-century church of Santa Maria degli Angeli and the Corridor of the Stigmata at La Verna, featuring 21 frescoes depicting the life of St Francis.
