Egypt: The Route of the Holy Family

A Journey of Refuge and Faith

Step into a deeply moving pilgrimage to Egypt, retracing the steps of the Holy Family as they sought refuge in this ancient land. After the birth of Jesus, the Holy Family fled from Herod’s persecution, journeying through Egypt in a story of protection, faith, and divine providence. This pilgrimage will lead us to sacred sites across Egypt, where Mary, Joseph, and the child Jesus lived and found sanctuary.

We will visit key locations such as the cave of the Holy Family in Cairo, the Monastery of St. Sergius and Bacchus, and the famous Tree of the Holy Family in the city of Matareya, where the Virgin Mary is believed to have rested. The journey continues to the city of Alexandria, where we reflect on the rich Christian history that began in these lands.

Following in the footsteps of the Holy Family, we will meditate on their courage and faith, drawing closer to God through this journey of reflection and prayer in the land where they sought safety and peace.
