Pilgrimage to Gozo & Malta with St Paul
Gozo, Malta
“Gozo remained an utterly private place... and lucky the man who could find the key, turn the lock, and vanish inside.”
-Nicholas Monsarrat.
The tiny but culturally rich Mediterranean islands of Malta and Gozo are filled with sights, scenery, architecture, beaches and a history that includes St Paul. Retrace the Apostle’s footsteps as he brought the Faith of Christ to these parts after a shipwreck in around 60 AD described in Acts with fire and miracles following. Authentic sights such as St Paul’s Bay, where there will be time to reflect on the passages in Acts, the cave where St Paul took refuge, and now known as St Paul’s Grotto will be visited as well as St Paul’s Church in Marsalforn from where the Saint departed for Sicily and Rome will be visited as well as the Roman complex San Pawl Milqi, believed to be the governor’s residence that hosted St Paul and a moving walking tour of Mdina including the Cathedral, on the sight of where St Paul is said to have converted the governor and made him the island’s first Bishop. This is a pilgrimage into the early days of the Message of Christ being preached throughout the known world and there will be plenty of time to pray, study, swim in the azure waters and enjoy delicious local cuisine.
