Pilgrimage of St Ignatius: Loyola to Manresa

Gold leaf banner_edited.jpg

The Way of St Ignatius

Join us on a profound spiritual journey following the path of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus, as we trace the key moments of his spiritual journey.

Our pilgrimage begins in Loyola, at the birthplace of Ignatius, where we visit the beautiful Sanctuary of Loyola and reflect on the dramatic change that occurred in his life after a devastating injury. Here, Ignatius experienced a deep spiritual awakening, which set him on a path that would eventually reshape the Catholic Church.

From Loyola, we travel to Pamplona, where Ignatius was wounded in battle, a pivotal event that led to his long period of reflection and conversion. We’ll then visit Zaragoza, where Saint Ignatius experienced a powerful vision of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which deepened his devotion and commitment to God’s service.

Continuing to Manresa, we explore the cave where Ignatius spent nearly a year in prayer and penance, writing the Spiritual Exercises that continue to guide people to this day in their journey of faith.
